Dukan Diet

The Dukan Diet is a new low carbohydrates, low fat and high protein fad diet. It seems to have appeared in France very recently. It is very similar to the Atkins Diet, whose main features shares. Before starting it, I would recommend reading the comments and experiences related to the second one, much older.
High-protein, low-carbohydrate diets have been the base of many last century fad diets, and it seems to be that are going to continue like that this one. The reason is that if followed, these diets offer a relatively fast response, although the weight loss normally is regain at much quicker speed after the diet is abandoned.
These diets cannot be followed more than a few weeks without a high risk of severe health problems. People should know that reducing the carbohydrates almost to none, the body is compelled to burn fats continuously and suffer constipation, weakness, kidney failure, kidney stones, osteoporosis, heart problems and according to some medical sources, even cancer.

At the beginning it was called the Protal diet, name that was changed to Dukan Diet.

Beware! Do not adopt this or any similar diet without asking your doctor.
