Mediterranean Diet is for life. If you stick to it you’ll keep healthy

Many people ask about the “first two weeks” of the Mediterranean Diet, as if it were a fad diet. They want a fast solution to discard weight as soon as possible to face a special event or the next period or holidays.

Original Mediterranean Diet followers exceptionally needed to lose weight. They practiced the Mediterranean way of life.  That meant high activity, daily exercise and the regional food pattern. So they did not suffer from obesity. The problem nowadays is that a high percentage of people have abandoned the Mediterranean Diet. They have adopted new habits, comprising junk food, a high rate of meat, refined carbs and an excess of calories. They so become obese. Children are the most important concern of the authorities.

They are just a few rules:

Eat lots of vegetables, non-caloric fruits and unrefined carbohydrates. Have fish. Eat dairy products, natural fats, virgin olive oil if you can. Check it is “virgin”. Allow yourself some eggs, meat and, in special occasions, some natural made desserts. But burn all of it. A distinguished Spanish Doctor (Dr. Marañon, 1887-1960) said: “If you feel you are getting fat, eat less and do more exercise. Or, if it necessary, cut the food to a half and double the activity”.

Do not endanger your life with unbalanced and expensive diets that may destroy your health. Mediterranean Diet is free.
