Some reactions about the convenience of having a good and balanced nutrition to prevent hair loss in the post Alopecia, makes me take a further step to say that some dieting process may deal to a significant hair loss. Almost six years ago, in September 13th 2005, Tara Parker-Pope published an article in the “Wall Street Journal” about the risk that some unbalanced diets made dieters lose a big amount of hair. Before and after that, some researchers have stated that mineral changes and nutritional deficiencies are likely to produce this undesirable effect. Dr. Wilma Bergfeld, head of the dermatology department of Cleveland Clinic, recommends avoiding fad, generally unbalancing quick weight loss diets. Therefore, all unbalanced diets are on suspicion. Before start one of them, you should ask not only to your doctor, but to a dermatologist as well.
It is reported that women are slightly more exposed to dieting hair loss than men.
We are not going to point out any diet. However, consider if the pattern you are going to follow is natural and stuck to human history.
Do not forget that there is only one way to weight loss : restrict calorie intake and burn the excess of them. However, without depriving your body of the elements it needs to work properly.
In following posts we’ll start giving you some tips to weight loss. They will be general tips that normally are valid for everybody. Nevertheless, remember: you can be different. Let yourself be always guided by a reputed doctor.
