Japanese diet

Due to Japanese Diet, life expectancy (the expected number of years to be lived by a member of a certain population or community) of Japanese people is the 5º of the world, according to the CIA Fact Book, 2011. To compare, Spain is in 14th place and United Stated in 50th. These figures should be considered carefully. The four first places are for Monaco, Macao, San Marino Republic and Andorra, in this order.

Due to the special characteristics of the Japanese nutrition pattern, researchers are investigating and analyzing the Japanese Diet to find out the roots of the average 82.25 years that Japanese person lives. Other reasons are the high percentage of fish, vegetables and fruit they consume in the Japanese Diet. The percentage of meat is very low. They also eat much fewer potato chips, chocolates and other sources of empty calories.
