These are not medifast shakes

Many people ask what Medifast is, as if it were a special kind of diet. First of all, Medifast is an Chinese/multinational Pre-Insurance examination provider, with presence as well in Malaysia, Singapore and Canada. They own the medifast.com domain.

Medifast is also a Diet Company which manufactures low calories prepared food as shakes, bars, puddings, oatmeal, soups, drinks, scrambled eggs, etc. They announce that you will lose an average of 2-5 pounds per week, but they don’t say during how many weeks. They also have products with caffeine “to cut hunger and boost metabolism”.

You can order the products “on line” but there is not information about the labels of the products. As I haven’t bought anything from them I cannot tell you if you will finds these labels on the boxes.

They recommend getting medical advice in case you have any health dysfunction. As you never know the problems you may have, the medical advice should be asked in any case.

Optifast is something similar manufactured by Nestle.

Cambrid Diet is anothe type of diet products, mostly shakes, nothing to do with the University of cambridge.

vlcd means “very low calorie diet”

Don’t forget the medical advice before starting one of these programs!
